Shirley Mae Hatchitt was born July 20, 1918 in Oskaloosa, Mahaska County, Iowa, the first of eleven children born to Glenn and Hazel Hatchitt.
The Hatchitt family relocated to Davenport, Scott County, Iowa in 1918 where Shirley grew up and graduated from Davenport High School on June 5, 1936.  She was soon living in her own apartment downtown and working as a dental assistant when she met her future husband, Richard Henry Love.
Shirley and Richard were married in 1938 and became the parents of 4 sons between 1939 and 1950.  The family moved to Albia, Iowa in 1952 where Richard operated Love Rexall Drug.  Shirley became involved with civic organizations and was a member of Chapter H, PEO.
After Richard died in 1974, Shirley sold her home in Albia and had a new home built in Venice, Florida where her parents and several siblings lived.  She relocated to Venice in 1976.
Shirley married Jack Scieszinski in 1979.  Jack and his first wife, Blanche, were good friends of Shirley and Richard's and the two connected after losing their spouses.  Shirley and Jack spent several years enjoying life travelling and spending time in their Albia, Iowa, Venice, Florida, and Gravois Mills, Missouri homes.
Shirley died February 27, 1995 at her home in Venice, Florida of cancer.
