James Hamilton Love was the couple's first-born. He emigrated to the U.S. in 1841, married Susan Devitt in 1845 and permanently settled in southeastern Iowa in 1854. His children settled in the states of Iowa, Washington, Nebraska, Kansas, California, and Indiana.
Jane Love married Charles Walker and spent her life in Ireland.
Margaret Love left Ireland for the U.S. in 1846. She married Samuel Young in about 1848, lived in Delaware, and eventually settled in southeastern Iowa. Her children settled in Richland County, South Carolina, the Denver, Colorado area, and in southeastern Iowa.
Frances Walker Love arrived in the U.S. in 1848 and married Andrew Crawford in San Francisco, California in 1854.
Eleanor Love arrived in New York from Ireland in 1854 and spent her life in San Francisco, California.
William Dare Love arrived in New York from Ireland in 1848 and went into the dry goods business in New York City. He settled permanently in Columbia, South Carolina in 1869.
Richard Love arrived in the U.S. on an unknown date, but appears on the 1860 U.S. Census in New York City sharing living accommodations with siblings William Dare, Eleanor (listed as Ellen), Samuel, and John. Richard eventually settled in San Francisco, California.
Samuel Love arrived in New York from Ireland in 1854 and became an importer of Irish linen, lace and fancy cloth for the New York City "carriage trade." He married Louisa Flue in 1870 and after her death in 1873, married Margretta Donnellon. Their children settled in the northeastern U.S.
John Love arrived in New York from Ireland on an unknown date, but was listed in the 1860 U.S. Census living in New York City with siblings William Dare, Eleanor (listed as Ellen), Richard, and Samuel. He eventually settled in Albia, Iowa.
Anne Love emigrated to the U.S. in about 1884 and settled in the San Francisco, California area.
